Every other week, we share quick bites of Amazon seller news, tips, and other goodies. Here is a quick roundup of seller snacks to munch on:
Amazon, TikTok Finally Hook Up
Amazon and TIkTok have entered a partnership that will allow TikTok users to buy from Amazon without leaving the TikTok app.
US shoppers who choose to link their account will start seeing select Amazon product ads with real-time pricing, Prime eligibility, delivery estimates, and product details.
This is a huge step toward the future dominance of social media commerce (or at least a way for Amazon to keep their chokehold on the markets.)

Amazon Liable for Third-Party Defective Goods
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has ruled that Amazon can be held responsible for defective goods sold by third-party merchants on its marketplace.
Amazon:
Under this ruling, Amazon will now be required to develop a plan to notify purchasers and the public about product hazards, as well as offer shoppers refunds or replacements for the affected products.
As expected, Amazon is all set to appeal the decision.
Did Competition Force Amazon to Lower Its Fees?
According to this article from Marketplace Pulse, yes.
Stiff competition from Shein and Temu reportedly forced Amazon’s hand to lower its fees, particularly in the Clothing and Apparel category, which in turn have enabled sellers to also lower their prices to drive up sales.
In January, Amazon dropped its seller fees on clothing priced lower than $15 to 5% from 17%, while seller fees for clothing priced $15 to $20 dropped to 10%. According to CEO Andy Jassy, this has caused significant year-over-year unit growth in apparel in Q2.
Amazon will be continuing to work on reducing its seller fees to enable it to sell lower-priced items on Prime.
