Amazon’s Cross-Generational Dominance
A recent Statista Consumer Insights survey reveals Amazon’s widespread popularity across age groups. Among respondents who purchased from major online retailers (including Amazon, Target, eBay, and Walmart) in the past year, Amazon captured a significant market share.
Interestingly, the Boomers and the Millenials, two age groups who are at the most odds with each other, are leading the rest of the age groups in Amazon’s share.

Only 1% of US Amazon Sellers Sell Overseas
According to Marketplace Pulse, despite Amazon’s best efforts to woo US sellers to sell in other international marketplaces, only 1% sell overseas.
For the respondents who do sell in international marketplaces, 12% sell on Amazon Canada, while 5% sell on Amazon Mexico. Only a few thousand US sellers sell in Amazon’s biggest international marketplaces (Japan, Germany, Mexico).
Amazon’s 22 international marketplaces present a tremendous business opportunity, and some complexities aside, seem easy to manage. What do you think is causing reluctance in Amazon US sellers?
