Amazon Turns to AI to Reduce Returns

Amazon is now utilizing AI to scan purchased goods for defects prior to being shipped to shoppers.

Dubbed Amazon PI (Private Investigator), the AI model utilizes generative AI and computer vision technologies to uncover not only damaged products, but also issues like wrong color or size before products are shipped to customers.

They are also currently developing an AI model which can identify the root cause of negative customer experiences, and are making the defect data accessible to sellers.

  • A summarized view of how your aging inventory levels are trending over time
  • How other metrics like FBA sales and aged inventory surcharge matchup with your aging inventory
  • A summary of excess inventory recommendations and aged inventory surcharge matchup with your aging inventory

New Feedback Manager Insights – Amazon has updated the Feedback Manager tool in Seller Central. You can now view your seller-fulfilled customer service performance across three critical insights: contacts, response time, and buyer sentiment.

New Beta Feature in Campaign Builder: Product Listing Quality – currently in Beta mode, the Product Listing Quality feature assesses your listings and provides insights on their click potential, helping you understand if your product is ready for launch.

New Customer Review Insights – the new Customer Review tab of the Explorer has been updated to include the following insights:

  • Review Trends – shows shifts in customer sentiments over the last six months
  • Parent ASIN insights – provides an overview of customer sentiment for ASINs with multiple variations
  • ASIN Benchmarking – compares your product’s star rating to the category average star rating.
  • Topic Drilldown – shows you frequently mentioned subtopics in reviews
