Every other week, we share quick bites of Amazon seller news, tips, and other goodies. Here is a quick roundup of seller snacks to munch on:
Estimate Your Personal Income Goals
How much do you need to sell in order to hit your personal income goals as an Amazon seller?
I saw this spreadsheet from Bookskeep floating around, and it’s worth your eyeballs:
If you have yet to explore the world of Profit-First, the book by Mike Michalowicz is the best place to start.
There is also a version specific for e-commerce sellers.
Finally, the banking system that is built to accompany this profit-first model is Relay—and we’ve been using them for about a year now and LOVE them.

2,000 Sellers Per Day Join Amazon
Marketplace Pulse recently reported that more than 2,000 sellers join the Amazon marketplace on a daily basis. Since 2018, 5 million sellers have joined, 40% in the USA.
What makes Amazon so attractive to entrepreneurs? These statistics may help:
- New sellers on Amazon make an average of $30,000 in their first year.
- 55% of sellers make over $60,000.
- 68% of Marketplace sellers turn a profit within their first year of selling.
Seller opportunities continue to expand. Enjoy the waves.
The TikTok Ban
The US government has issued an ultimatum to ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, to either sell the Chinese stake in 270 days or face a ban in America.
First, the best place to get a breakdown of important news is Tim Dillon. Click the link.
Second, consider the following data points that highlight TikTok’s economic impact:
- TikTok’s total GDP contribution amounted to $24.2B in the US.
- The platform supports a total of 224,000 jobs from its use of SMBs as a platform to grow and expand business.
- In 2023, TikTok generated $5.3B in tax revenue for the US government.
- In 2023, TikTok’s US operations supported an additional $8.5B contribution to the US GDP, $2B in taxes, and 59,000 jobs across the US economy.
The ban will have a mega impact if it happens.
Of course, Amazon is ready to fill in the TikTok void with Amazon Anywhere, a similar commerce media platform being rolled out with Meta and Snap, and is reportedly already making waves.

Important Amazon Seller Updates
Updated Requirements for Products with Button Cell or Coin Batteries – If you sell these products, you will now have to provide these two documents to ensure compliance:
- Proof of compliance with Underwriters Laboratory 4200 (UL4200 A) from an ISO 17025-approved lab
- General Certificate of Conformity that lists compliance with UL4200A
Expand to Brazil – Eligible North American sellers can now expand to Brazil and sell their products via seller-fulfilled orders or remote fulfillment with FBA.
New Personalized Recommendation Feature – the feature is now available on the Fulfillment Insights Dashboard, and provides delivery performance insights on your seller-fulfilled, non-Prime orders based on categories such as handling time and on-time delivery rate. Very helpful in improving delivery performance and optimizing shipping choices.
