Automated AI F*ckery on Listings

Hopefully AI will end up being something that actually helps improve listings, but growing pains are always evident. A few sellers have been reporting automated emails from Amazon piloting a new program that automatically updates your listing with recommended improvements.

The problem is that AI seems to be changing the listing copy, bullets, keywords, and more without proper time for sellers to review and respond. Some changes have been stripping the listing of bullets and keywords all together.

Customers who purchase a car on Amazon will have the option of having the car delivered or picking it up at a local dealership.

Other car manufacturers are expected to follow Hyundai’s lead and get on Amazon’s platform by next year.

Is it possible that one day soon all third-party sellers will have the opportunity to list and sell cars on Amazon too? Ebay’s been driving that market for years…

An Etsy seller is claiming that her ads were targeted by Etsy’s AI bots because she included “attractive pictures” of herself and uses benign words like “love” in her listings. She says that the AI bots added more than 3,000 sexual terms on her listing which caused her to pay for clicks on ads for people looking for adult content, negatively affect the SEO on her listings, and suffer from “moral” and “psychological” damages. Yikes.
